Takumi kommt versehentlich durch einen Unfall ums Leben und wird vom Windgott Syl in eine andere Welt verfrachtet. Um sich bei Takumi für die Unannehmlichkeiten zu entschuldigen, gewährt der Windgott ihm diverse Fähigkeiten für sein neues Leben in Etelldia, der Welt, über die Syl herrscht. In einer Welt, die von gefährlichen Monstern heimgesucht wird, streift Takumi durch einen Wald und trifft dort auf zwei verlassene Kinder, die Zwillinge zu sein scheinen. Aus Sorge, dass den Kindern etwas zustoßen könnte, nimmt er sie bei sich auf und nennt sie fortan Alan und Elena. Um die beiden auch versorgen zu können, meldet sich Takumi als Abenteuer in einer Gilde einer nahegelegenen Stadt und beginnt damit sein neues Leben als Abenteurer mit zwei kleinen Kindern am Rockzipfel.
