Worum geht es in Maken-Ki!?
Glücklich darüber, dass es keine Aufnahmeprüfung gab, beginnt Takeru Ōyama an seiner neuen High School. Recht schnell bemerkt er allerdings, dass es sich dabei um keine gewöhnliche Schule handelt. Statt sich rein dem Lernen hinzugeben, kämpfen hier die Schüler beiderlei Geschlechts mittels mysteriöser Kräfte, die als Maken bezeichnet werden. Neben dem energiegeladenen Mädchen Kodama, trifft Takerau auch noch auf Inaho, die sich als seine Verlobte ausgibt, sowie Haruko, seine Kindheitsfreundin.
