Worum geht es in Sita Sings the Blues?
Auf Betreiben seiner Stiefmutter wird Prinz Rama vom Hof seines Vaters verbannt. Seine Frau Sita folgt ihm in die Wildnis, wo sie vom Dämonenkönig Ravana entführt wird. Ravana bedrängt Sita, sich ihm hinzugeben, doch Sita bleibt standhaft, bis sie von Rama mit Hilfe einer Armee von Affen befreit wird. Obwohl Sita beteuert, sich Ravana verweigert zu haben, zweifelt Rama fortan an ihrer Treue. Schwierigkeiten mit ihrem Ehemann bekommt in der Gegenwart auch die Amerikanerin Nina, die per E-Mail von ihm die Nachricht erhält, dass ihre Beziehung zu Ende ist.
