Muziek is het licht dat de harten van mensen verlicht – en dat ‘licht’ werd plotseling uit de wereld weggenomen. De wereld veranderde op de avond dat de zwarte 'Kuroya Meteoriet' viel. Groteske monsters, bekend als D2, kwamen uit de meteoriet tevoorschijn en begonnen het land en de mensen onder de voet te lopen. Omdat de D2 zich aangetrokken voelde tot de melodieën die mensen speelden, werd 'muziek' uiteindelijk zelf taboe. Degenen die zich tegen de monsters verzetten, verschenen echter. Zij zijn de 'Musicart', meisjes die kracht putten uit muziek. Ze bezitten de grote opera's en partituren uit de geschiedenis van de mensheid en gebruiken deze om de D2 te verslaan.
