Waar gaat The Elusive Samurai over?
Het verhaal speelt zich af tussen de Kamakura- en Muromachi-periodes, tijdens de Kenmu-restauratie, en volgt het verhaal van Hojo Tokiyuki, een jongen die op de vlucht is nadat zijn familie is omvergeworpen door Ashikaga Takauji. Omdat zijn enige bondgenoten een duistere priester en zijn volgelingen zijn, moet de jonge heer wraak zoeken en zijn glorie herwinnen, met zijn enige wapen: een bovenmenselijk vermogen om te vluchten en zich te verstoppen.
