讲述了在南宋年隆兴元年四月，继位不到一年的南宋皇帝宋孝宗为恢复北方失地和提高南宋在宋金关系中的地位，对金不宣而战。大军兵分两路，一路由大将李显忠率领进攻灵璧，一路由邵宏渊带领进攻虹县。 李显忠兵贵神速，很快凭借实力拿下灵璧城，而且凭借着自己体恤百姓的军纪在进入灵璧城之后受到了百姓箪食壶浆的欢迎，同时李显忠带领的队伍还结识了身处于灵璧城内的李少侠和岳银瓶一行人，众人全都是当年岳飞带领的岳家军的后人，众人在灵璧经营着一家飞云客栈，收集前线战报，就在众人把酒言欢之际，却得知另一边攻取虹县的大将军邵宏渊北伐遇阻。
